Dragonfly - Te Taiao o Tāmaki.

Today room 8 made a dragonfly . Some people say that when a dragonfly hovers above a creek it means it's a clean creek. The reason why we made these is because it has a connection to our topic which is the omaru creek.

Walt:  conduct a statistical investigation.

We used google maps to determine the walking  distance to 124 Apirana Avenue. This is the entrance
to the Omaru Creek that we are studying. The screenshot shows the route, distance and time from
my house to the creek. Furthest it would take Jolie 7 minutes which would equal to 550M
Harrison lives in East Tamaki so if he walked from the G.I train station it would also take

7 minutes - 550M .Next, we .will be calculating the mean and the median.

Omaru Creek - Te Taiao o Tāmaki

OMARU CREEK.

In February the Maintenance cleaned the creek. They found some sewage that was overflowing because the drain was clogged with Nappies,Rags,Mattresses from the side and some beer cans. It took them five days but at least it was clean. They flushed the pipes with fresh water so that the creek would be cleaned.

Some of our kids at school are going to clean it up and make it tidy. Here's what it looked like when we went there.
Screenshot 2017-02-24 at 12.16.19.png
When we clean it we are hoping that it stays clean forever.
